So many blessings! So many things that need changing!
I've spent the last month trying to figure out the perfect things to write about. I've decided to just jump right in and write about anything that comes up in my daily life. Today, it's about how I plan on changing my weight. I've started with lunch, a blueberry/chocolate smoothie. Frozen blueberries I bought from local farmers, and raw cacao powder, with milk and yogurt.
I am passionate about supporting local businesses and eating raw foods, so this is a great start! I do want to eliminate milk from my household. There are so many other ways to get calcium without the steriods that are fed to the cows and are therefore in milk.
My weight/health is interesting. I am 5'5" and 250 pounds. Recent bloodwork shows that I am healthy, normal blood pressure, diabetes that was an issue is gone, thyroid normal, all good. I do have carpel tunnel which is getting worse. I have lost nerve and strength in my right thumb/hand and my left hand is starting also. I wear a brace on both wrists at night, which helps. Every muscle in my body aches all day. My knees ache. My feet hurt so bad it's hard to walk. I get winded easily. I can't carry my baby for more than ten minutes. I remember being so very strong, brown belt in Shotokan Karate, carrying twins, moving furniture, doing my own yard work. These are things I will be able to do again.
I have been eating as much raw food as I can. David Wolfe is a leading figure in raw food promotion, and he is sponsering the NutriBullet. It's a very high power blender that actually pulverizes the food into a liquid state. Very easy cleanup. I decided to get one. They are out of stock at the Sears warehouse! So, I'll keep checking, and in the meantime use my blender for smoothies.
I am nursing my 16 month old, so I have to be very careful in this weight loss journey that she stays healthy. I'd love to jump right into a completely raw food diet, but that will probably put me into a detox state, which would not be good for her. So, I'll take it slow and just incorporate more good foods, and eliminate some of the harmful ones, and eat other things in moderation.
I'm also moving towards more healthy foods for her and my middle daughter. We already eat lots of salad and fruits so it won't be a huge step. I will use up the boxes and cans of food we have and replenish the pantry with better choices.
Last week I planted a small fall garden. Three kinds of Kale, yellow squash, cucumbers, zuchini, and lettuce. I live in South Louisiana, so I should harvest for another month or so. I also have a nice herb garden going, which is thriving now that the weather is cooling off.
God's Blessings to You!
