Preferring NutriBlasts

A drink made in the NutriBullet is referred to as a NutriBlast.  At home, I drink about 3 a day, with a light cooked meal for supper.  I eat very very little dairy and do not have meat at home.  Little Monkey (who is 18 months) has eaten this way for her whole life. She shares all the NutriBlasts with me.  LilyPad (who is 12) refuses the NutriBlasts but will eat the raw food whole.

Yesterday, we went to Anthony's for dinner.  He made Tacos.  I ate some with lots of cheese.  Little Monkey ate a few bites and was very fussy.  When we got home I made a Blast with Banana, Avocado, Almond Milk, my Nutrition Powder Mix, and extra acidophiles and papaya enzymes.  The smile on Little Monkey's face when she tasted it, real food, was priceless.  My own tummy was tender until I had the Blast, and felt much better afterwards.

I do believe that I'll be bringing a NutriBlast with me on visits.  This would allow myself and Little Monkey to enjoy the company of our family, while sticking to our healthy eating habits.

Extra Nutrition In My Smoothies

Raw (or sometimes cooked) foods go into my NutriBullet and come out as a delicious drink.  This is extremely nutritious.  I also use Superfoods in my smoothies.  I put about 10 different things in each one.  It was very time consuming to open each bag or bottle three or four times a day for smoothies.  So, I bought some plastic bowls with lids and measure out six servings at a time.  Each bowl gets....

1/4 tsp Chia Seeds
1/4 tsp Sprouted Flax Seeds
1/4 tsp Raw Cocoa
1/4 tsp Raw Lucama
5 Papaya Enzyme Tablets
1/4 tsp MSM Powder
1 Acidophilus Capsule
1/4 tsp Bee Pollen
1/4 tsp Dried Homegrown Mint
1/4 tsp Dried Dulse or other sea plant, like Spiriliuna
1/4 tsp Dried Fruit Powder
1/4 tsp Dried Vegetable Powder
1/4 tsp Cinnamon

Acorn Squash Pudding, Oh My!

I just had the most decadent healthy desert! I just had to share with you.

Yesterday I baked a large acorn squash.  Cut the squash in half, remove seeds using a spoon, cut off hard top and bottom.  Cut squash into bite size pieces, leaving the peeling on.  Put in a baking pan.  Add a bag of precut butternut squash and 1 cup local Louisiana Pecans. In a microwave safe cup melt 1/2 stick butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 2 Tbsp Pumpkin Pie Spice.  Pour over squash and cover with aluminum foil.  Bake until peelings are soft.  Yummy! served warm.

Today I slightly reheated a cup of the squash.  Put in the NutriBullet with 1/2 cup plain Almond Milk and a medium banana.  Blend for 45 seconds.

I was pleased with the result, so smooth and creamy.
